Privacy policy

The short version

Filament Select has no user accounts, no newsletter and no login. It does not ask you for your name, your email address or any other personal detail, and there is nothing on this site you can fill in that would give it one.

What is stored in your browser

The colours you search are saved in your browser’s local storage so the “recently searched” row survives a refresh. That data never leaves your device and is never sent to us — it is readable only by this site, in this browser, on this computer. Clearing your browser’s site data removes it.

If you use the image colour picker, the image is read directly in your browser and drawn to a canvas to sample a pixel. It is never uploaded. It is not stored, not transmitted, and is discarded when you close the page.

Server logs

This site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard request logs — IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp — as part of operating the service. Those logs are Vercel’s and are subject to their retention policy. We do not build profiles from them.

Affiliate links and cookies

Some purchase links may be affiliate links. Amazon links are currently untracked retailer links. Other retailer links may run through affiliate networks such as ShareASale, Impact or Awin when those programmes are active.

When you click one of those links, the destination retailer or its affiliate network may set a cookie in your browser to attribute a later purchase. That cookie is set by them, on their domain, under their privacy policy — not by us. We never receive your order details, your payment information or your identity. When a programme is active, we may receive an aggregate commission report.

Filament Select sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own.

Analytics

There is currently no analytics or tracking script on this site. If that changes, this page will be updated to name the provider and say what it collects, before it is switched on.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. Since it collects no personal information from anyone, there is nothing held about a child to delete.

Your rights

Rights such as access, correction and deletion under the GDPR, UK GDPR and CCPA apply to personal information held about you. Because this site holds none, there is nothing for us to hand over or erase. The one piece of data connected to you — your recent colour searches — is in your browser and under your control.

For the request logs described above, contact Vercel’s privacy team, since they are the controller of that data.

Changes

Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page. Given the site collects nothing today, the most likely change is the addition of analytics or accounts — both of which would be described here first.
